You may have seen the headlines about GPs working to rule and limiting the number of appointments.
We have no plans to change the way patients access care and will continue to strive to meet the demand for routine and urgent needs as we are already doing. However, please be aware that some days the duty GPs are dealing with 60 or more complex cases. This is far from ideal for patients or practitioners and threatens the future of General Practice.
Please make use of the various self-care options for minor illnesses, including the ‘Pharmacy First’ scheme. We will, of course, always try to be available and get you the most appropriate care in the most timely way we can.
