Antenatal clinics are run in the practice on a Wednesday afternoon. If arranged with your midwife, they may ask to see you in clinics outside the surgery throughout the week.
Community nurses
The practice has a team of district nurses attached to it who support the doctors by providing care to patients in their own homes. The district nurses look after patients who are unable to attend the practice.
Because the nurses work out in the community their calls are recorded on an answer machine, which is normally responded to within 2 hours. If you need to contact the district nurses please call them on 0300 421 6071.
Health visitors
The health visitors team provides support to parents and children in the community. They can offer a wide range of advice including:
- Feeding babies and toddlers
- Toilet training
- Tantrums
- Sleep Problems
- Postnatal depression
- Hearing, speech and vision
Routine health assessments are carried out at:
- 6 weeks by the GP
- 9 months by the health visitor
- 2 years by the health visitor
You will be notified when these checks are due. Please call them on 01452 895236.
